OUR PROGRAMS
At Monument View Montessori, we offer three programs: Lower Primary for ages 3 to 4 1/2. Upper Primary for 4 1/2 through Kindergarten, and Lower Elementary, for 1st through 3rd grade. Each builds on the last, so children can grow with us from their very first school year through 3rd grade. Read more about the benefits of a mixed age approach here.
LOWER & UPPER PRIMARY
LOWER: Ages 3-4 1/2 • Preschool
UPPER: Ages 4 1/2 - 5 • Preschool through Kindergarten
Our Primary program serves preschool through Kindergarten in two mixed-age classrooms. Lower Primary is for 3-year-olds and younger 4s, and Upper Primary is for older 4s and Kindergartners. In a structured, peaceful environment, children build independence, concentration, and a love of learning at their own pace, guided by trained Montessori teachers.
Students work with self-correcting, multi-sensory materials across Practical Life, Senorial, Math, Language, Science and Peace Education. As they grow, they move from concrete understanding to abstract thinking, and they leave Primary fully prepared for Lower Elementary.

LOWER ELEMENTARY
Ages 6-9 • First through Third Grade
In Lower Elementary, students explore every subject area through hands-on materials, along with peace education, social and emotional learning, grace and courtesy lessons, and cultural studies. Children at this age are developing independence and a growing awareness of the people around them. Our classroom is prepared to help them handle freedom and practice self-discipline. They choose their own work, pursue special-interest projects, and build time-management and presentation skills they'll carry with them for years to come.
KEEPING EVERY CHILD ON TRACK
All programs are aligned with Colorado State Standards. We track each child's progress using DIBELS Literacy, Star Math, and Transparent Classroom, and our third graders take the state's CMAS test each spring.
